'Becoming Vegan' Poster Final Version

This is the final version of my Becoming Vegan Poster.

Shown below are some raw images that I photographed for the poster. I edited them in Adobe Photoshop and then used Microsoft Publisher and Open Office Writer to put the images together with some written text to construct the poster.

This image was taken within our college common room.

This is was spelt with raw carrots and a piece of broccoli on a kitchen table top.

This image was derived from two images I Photographed, I used photoshop to half both images, add and take away unnecessary features and then added more contrast so the images would become more sharper and bright. I then put the two images together and made the background transparent with the 'Magic Wand' tool on photoshop.

This is the Burger Image I Photographed, I took the image in an I.T Technicians computer room, within the room is a small photography set where you can take photographs.
This is the Apple Image I Photographed, I took the image once again in the I.T Technicians computer room on the photograph set.

'Becoming Vegan' Double Page Spread Final Version

This is the Final Version of my Becoming Vegan
Double-Page Spread

Shown below are some raw images that I photographed for the poster. I edited them in Adobe Photoshop and then used Microsoft Publisher to put the images together with some written text to double-page spread.

This image was taken by myself in one our colleges I.T Rooms. I used the 'Magic Wand' Tool on Photoshop to make the background transparent so I was only left with the Image of Dan Leaning, the pile of fruit would then take the table's place so it gave the appearance that Dan was leaning on a pile of fruit whilst gesturing to the documentary's title above him.

I photographed this image at a fruit stand on Boundry Road, Hove. I cropped, flipped and used the Magic Wand tool once again so that I only had an image of a pile of fruit.

Questionnaire Evaluation

This result showed us that the audience prefers the inclusion of a video diary within the documentary, our first intention was to do this with 'Becoming Vegan'. This result only enforced our original idea and we decided to make video diary's as effective as possible by tieing them with other scenes such as interviews with friends.

Once again we were pleased that we got this result as our documentary was going to originally be based around one person's journey and the documentation of that journey, with the help of video dairy's it gives the viewer a more intimate experience when watching as they can follow one's journey on screen and empathize.

This result didn't suprise me as BBC Three is popular network to air documentaries on, indeed I think that this result came up because BBC Three is more available to the public as one does not need a subscription to cable or satelitte networks. In general BBC Three is more open and available to a larger audience.

This result did surprise me as I thought people would not care whether or not we did add a disclaimer in the documentary, we decided not to add one because we saw it as one person's choice to become vegan and if someone cant adapt to becoming vegan they can easily stop. The benefits outweigh the risks.

This result seemingly indicated to us that UK Television does not air food related documentaries that often, we were slightly concerned whether or not peole would be interested in watching our documentary at first, but this result gave us some hope as if something that is not aired frequently is aired then it could spark some intrigue.

Becoming Vegan was our original approach so we was pleased with this result, I think that becoming vegan is a 'hot topic' within food and intrigues some. Becoming Vegan is very common within the world and to document someone's journey through the vegan lifestyle could help others decided whether or not to become vegan themselves. Not many people have all meat based diets or dairy based diets, being vegan however is a more common choice and I think this is why we got this result for a demand of a Vegan based documentary.

This result prompted us to go with a more eduacational aproach when adding content to the documentary, this is why we added facts and figures within the piece and why we included an interview with a food nutritionist. This documentary is all about giving the viewer a good insight into the vegan lifestyle, so it is logical to know that it has to be eduacational and informative.

'Becoming Vegan' Story Boards

Displayed below are the stroyboards I designed for the Documentary, the sole purpose of these sketches were to give us a true image of what we wanted to be shown in the documentary and how we wanted certain scenes to look like and plan out. These sketches gave us a small sense of further direction that was needed when we were filming.
